A 30-year sentence for S * x crimes was imposed on R Kelly

“I literally wished I would die because of how you made me feel,” one said.

Kelly, who wore prison khakis and sunglasses, chose not to respond to the verdict and made no comment of his own.

According to U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly, the famous s * x was used as a weapon, forcing some of its victims to engage in horrific behavior and burdening others with STDs.

“You taught them that love is slavery and violence,” she said.

Testimony

The court heard evidence about how Kelly, best known for the hit songs I Believe I Can Fly and Ignition, used his position to seduce women and children over the course of two decades.

During his six-week trial in Brooklyn, the Brooklyn jury heard evidence about how he, with the help of executives, security personnel and other members of his entourage, traded women between several U.S. states.

The court also learned how in 1994, when Kelly was 15 years old and seven years before singer Aaliyah died in a plane crash, she obtained marriage licenses in violation of the law.

Aaliyah’s age was stated as 18 on the certificate when it was leaked. A few months later, the marriage was dissolved.

“There was not a day in my life until this moment that I actually believed that the legal system for black and brown girls would come through,” she told reporters.

Given the nature of Kelly’s crimes and “the need to protect the public from further crimes,” federal prosecutors suggested he be sentenced to at least 25 years in prison.

However, his lawyers have requested a sentence of 10 years or less, which is the mandatory minimum for his crime.

They suggested to Kelly that he had grown up in a violent home and had been sexually abused at an early age.

Kelly’s girlfriend, Lizzette Martinez, who first met Kelly when she was 17, claimed that Kelly “has so many options to stop himself.”
