A fix for that crazy iPhone 14 Pro camera shake bug is now rolling out

TL;DR

  • Apple has reportedly released a software update for the iPhone 14 series.
  • This update fixes a bug in the camera movement of the iPhone 14 Pro series.

Apple launched the iPhone 14 Series last week, but some iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max buyers almost immediately encountered a serious bug. This issue caused the main camera to vibrate and make a rattling or grinding noise when using the camera in third-party apps.

The Cupertino company promised that a fix would be forthcoming and it has indeed now pushed an update to iPhone 14 series devices. The iOS 16.0.2 update changelog specifically notes that this issue has been resolved, according to: GSMArena.

Needless to say, this should come as a relief to the affected iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max users. Videos of the bug posted online showed the 48MP main camera shaking and making a worrying rattling noise. The bug occurred when users tried to use the camera in apps such as Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok.

The problem was ostensibly due to the camera’s sensor shift stabilization feature not working properly in these apps. But hopefully this will be the last we hear of it as an update rolls out.

Anyway, the iPhone 14 Pro series in particular is worth considering if you’re open to joining Apple’s ecosystem. However, there is no shortage of iPhone 14 alternatives out there if you want to stick with android.
