TL;DR

  • A new leak related to the Galaxy S23 has surfaced.
  • The leak seems to confirm that a custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip could be used for the Galaxy S23 series.
  • The leak also seems to confirm a downgraded selfie camera for the Ultra.

Even though we are less than a week away from launch day, Galaxy S23 leaks keep coming in. This time, a leak seems to confirm the chip that might be used in the flagship and a camera downgrade for the Ultra.

Reliable leaker Roland Quandt took to Twitter today to show off two new images. These images further seem to support what we’ve heard about the Galaxy S23 lineup.

The first image Quandt revealed appears to be marketing material that seems to reiterate that Samsung is using a custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. Specifically, it is an image of a Qualcomm chip with the branding “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy”.

This news comes just one day after another leak suggested the chipset would come in all global models of the lineup.

The second image Quandt shared is a comparison table showing all three models side-by-side. Something interesting that can be gleaned from the image is that the base model seems to hang there quite tightly with the other two variants. Specifications such as brightness, storage, and refresh rate are similar across the board.

As far as shown here, the base model doesn’t seem to make any major compromises compared to its siblings. The biggest differences are the size, battery capacityand the Ultra’s 200MP shooter.

Speak about cameras, this leak also seems to support what we expected from the Ultra’s selfie camera. Looks like it’s been downgraded from 40MP to 12MP this year.

With Samsung Unpacked scheduled for next Wednesday, we won’t have to rely on leaks much longer to satisfy our hunger for details.
