A place in the sun has turned to an unlikely source to show one of the team members around the island Cyprus – former Britain has talent star Stavros Flatley.

In 2009, British-Greek-Cypriot father-son dance duo Demetrios and Michalakis ‘Lagi’ Andreas went to the BGT stage And created a cult following for their River Dance inspired Mediterranean routines.

They managed to make it to the final and finished fourth behind Diversity, Susan Boyle and Julian Smith.

While we have updates from the couple over the past decade, we’ll now see Demi in an epic TV crossover when he appears in an upcoming episode of A Place in The Sun.

Presenter Ben Hillman revealed the exciting news on social media this week.

“Not every day you meet your heroes, but today was one of them,” he posted on Instagram along with a photo of him standing next to Demi, who had pulled up his shirt to show off his tattoo of his beloved Cyprus.

“How we laughed with Demi aka Stavros Flatley at Octopus Water Sports.

‘We even learned some of those infamous dance moves!!!

He added, “This will definitely be an episode to look forward to.”

While we may be used to seeing Ben help people find their perfect properties, this episode seems to be a change of pace.

His fellow A Place in the Sun host Leah Charles-King also expressed disappointment that she had not been there for this particular trip.

‘I’m so JELL!!!!! Stavros Flatley are legends!!!!” she responded to the post.

Earlier this week, Ben also teased some more details about the upcoming season of the long-running real estate show, which first premiered in 2000.

He wrote that there were “plenty of reasons to love May”, including the fact that not only was it the start of summer, Eurovision season and three bank holidays coming up, but new episodes of his show were also coming in were ahead.

‘Now in its incredible 23rd year, there is still a huge appetite among many UK house hunters looking for the perfect overseas property,’ he added.

‘To kick-start the property search and the new season, I will be assisting Candy and Mark who are looking for a home in the beautiful Spanish countryside of inland Almeria.’

He explained that the couple met two years ago and that, with a view to retirement, he would “do everything he can” to find them the perfect place in the sun.

Britain’s Got Talent returns to ITV later this year.

A Place in the Sun is streaming on All4.
