Abbott Elementary, Atlanta Among Night 4 Winners – The Hollywood Reporter

Abbott Elementary School, Atlanta And You better call Saul are among the fourth night winners of the NAACP Image Awardsceremonies that are not televised.

Winners at Thursday night’s virtual ceremony include TV writing, TV directing and podcasting categories.

Brittani Nichols won Best Writing in a Comedy Series for Abbott Elementary School, while Marissa Jo Cerar accepted the drama series writing award Women of the Movement.

Angela Barnes won the directing award for the comedy series Atlantawhile Giancarlo Esposito won an NAACP Image Award for directing You better call Saul.

Winners in podcasting categories included The daily show and Le Var Burton.

NAACP recognized winners in non-televised categories in virtual ceremonies over several nights. Beyonce and Rihanna were among the winners from the first night; Jennifer Hudson, Trevor Noah and Viola Davis were among those who won on night two; And Black Panther: Wakanda forever, Quinta Brunson and Keke Palmer were among the night’s three winners.

The NAACP will hold an awards ceremony Friday and a program hosted by actress Bresha Webb. The live broadcast with the categories on television will take place on Saturday evening, with Queen Latifah Hosting. The live show will be simulcast across Paramount Global networks including BET HER, CBS, CMT, Comedy Central, LOGO, MTV, MTV2, Paramount Network, POP TV, Smithsonian, TV Land and VH1.
