About 70 homes in Auckland’s Remuera have been without water since about 7 a.m. Friday morning after water mains broke.
Watercare said the repair is “complex” and made more difficult because they had to dig under a road to access the pipes.
“Digging has now been done and repairs are underway. We would like to thank the community for their patience as we make this critical repair,” said a Watercare spokesperson.
“We hope to provide all customers with water again tonight.”
Watercare has a tanker truck to deliver drinking water at 661 Remuera Rd. Residents in need should bring a container to collect water.
