Accusing me of war crimes is like 'George Bush after September 11'.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaks out after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for him. The ICC has issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

In an interview on Good morning AmericaNetanyahu said the arrest warrant is “absurd” and “outrageous.” Responding to ICC chief prosecutors and Israeli War Cabinet Minister Benny Gant, Netanyahu told GMA: “This is beyond outrageous. He said we refuse water. Here and everywhere else a completely false accusation is being made.”

Talk about it straight away ICC Prosecutor Karim AA Khan KC, Netanyahu added: “He says we are starving people. You know, we delivered half a million tons of food and medicine with 20,000 trucks. This man is out to demonize Israel. He's doing a good job. He creates a false symmetry between Israel's democratically elected leaders and the terrorist leaders. That's like saying: after 9/11. Well, I issue arrest warrants for George Bush, but also for Bin Laden or after World War II. Well, I'm issuing arrest warrants for FDR, but also for Hitler. It's a job. It's not serious.”

Karim Khan said he believes Netanyahu, his Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and three Hamas leaders – Yehia Sinwar, Mohammed Deif and Ismail Haniyeh – are responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip and Israel. The prosecutor must apply for the arrest warrants to a panel of three judges, which takes an average of two months to review the evidence and determine whether the proceedings can proceed.
