Amanda Holden has revealed that she has banned her daughter from ever going on Love Island after seeing Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma compete on the show.
The 51-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge admitted that her daughter Lexi, 16, is “obsessed” with the dating show, but she must not follow in the footsteps of 19-year-old Gemma Owen and ever appear on the show.
Speaking about the latest reconnection in which Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu chose to work with Davide Sanclimenti, Amanda revealed: “This is starting to become a bit of an obsession with my teenage daughter at home now.
“She’s never taken an ounce of interest in Love Island and now she’s all set, which worries me a bit when you consider Michael Owen’s daughter is into it. And I’m like, “You’re never going to get into it, Alexa!”‘
Jamie Theakston, co-host of Amanda’s Heart Breakfast, then joked, “Imagine if she did that, she’d be perfect for the show.”
Amanda quickly closed it again and replied, “I can imagine and she can’t! Mom said no! She loves me too much, she won’t.’
It comes after footballer Michael Owen shared his reaction to watching his daughter lap dance in front of the boys at the Love Island villa as part of the heartbeat challenge.
He tweeted an emoji covering his face as the challenge took place, with Gemma raising the heart rate in a skimpy black leotard with a little frilly skirt.
Michael had previously admitted he would try not to watch his daughter on Love Island after it was brought up during a live UEFA Nations League segment ahead of the England vs Germany game.
He joked at the time, “I came all the way to Germany to try and avoid all that at home.
‘But I feel good. This distracts me, so don’t come back to it.’
