In terms of business success stories, it doesn’t get much better than Amazon†
What started as a bookselling website has grown into one of the largest retail companies in the world, offering practically everything you can imagine, from toilet paper to luxury fragrances.
Rare is the internet user who at some point doesn’t browse Amazon’s digital aisles and get one incredible offer after another.
But Black Friday craze aside, the discounts and deals don’t get much better than during the retailer’s annual sale for its Prime members, known as Amazon Prime Day.
When does Amazon Prime Day end?
It started on July 12 and continues into the last minutes of July 13† Prime Day ends at 11:59 PM on July 13, so now’s the time to pack everything on your wish list.
Do you need a Prime account to get the deals?
The shortest is, yes. You must be signed in to Amazon’s Prime Membership to access the savings. It’s well worth it: In addition to the next day delivery of thousands of products, there are exclusive member-only offers and services for Amazon Video, Books, Music, Image Storage, Gaming and more.
It also doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. You can pay a rolling monthly fee of £7.99 or an annual £79 which makes it a bit more cost effective, especially if you have one account for your entire household. Students get an even better deal of almost 50 percent off at £3.99 per month†
Both plans come with a free trial so you can determine if Prime membership is right for you. Aside from all the benefits we’ve mentioned, Prime members can also take advantage of free Deliveroo Plus and discounts on National Express tickets, Elemis skincare, Philips electronics and much more. There’s never been a reason to join the club†
What types of Prime Day deals are available?
There are two main types. First of all Lightning Deals: fast and dazzling offers on products in often very limited quantities. We’ve seen everything from air fryers to fire tablets in this category in the past. You have to be quick to get these because once they are gone; They are gone.
Deals of the day are a slightly slower, more thoughtful affair, lasting for a longer period of time, giving you more time to make a decision. There’s still a time limit on the offer, but less of an impulse buy than Lightning Deals.
What deals on Amazon devices were there last year?
Amazon’s internal tech arm is constantly evolving. In addition to the coveted smart speaker, Amazon Echo (which comes in Dot and Show spin-offs), prices were slashed for Kindles and Fire tablets for both adults and children.
In home entertainment, Fire Sticks were reduced by as much as 50 percent, while prices also dropped on the Fire TV Cube, which combines a streaming device and speaker in one.
Home security is another area where Amazon is focusing its tech efforts, and the Ring Video Doorbell’s sales were among the biggest of the event. All signs point to a repeat of demand this year as well.
What deals can we expect this year?
Amazon devices that you can usually count on to drop in price are Echo speakers, Fire sticks and tablets, although the company likes to throw some wildcard offers into the mix to really treat its Prime members.
This year Prime members will see deals starting as early as July 8th with savings of up to 60 percent on select Amazon devices, including Echo Dot (3rd and 4th generation† Echo show 5 (2nd generation)† Fire TV Cube† Flashing cameras† Call home securityand Fire 7 Pro Tablet for Kids†
We’ll be keeping a close eye on these when Prime Day 2022 kicks off on July 12, so bookmark this page and come back when the time comes.
Are there any offers now?
Yes! While the biggest savings are reserved for Prime time, Amazon has built its reputation by offering great bargains, and you can now make incredible savings too.
There are quite a few products in Amazon’s range, so here’s a rundown of all the own-brand technology the global retailer has under its sizable belt, plus what they’re doing and the discounts on offer right now:
