Amazon Prime Day Sets Record Revenue With Over 100,000 Items Sold Per Minute

Amazon posted its highest revenue this year during Prime Day, with more than 100,000 items sold per minute. The peak day spanning two days was the biggest peak day ever to date, with the highest purchases ever.

According to Amazon data, global users bought more than 300 million items in two days. According to Forbes data, Amazon has brought in more than $6 billion in sales in just 24 hours. The best-selling product categories were consumer and home electronics and Amazon appliances.

Amazon sales indicated users were least concerned about inflation

Sales figures indicate that US users were least affected by rising levels of inflation as sales were at an all-time high. On Tuesday, sales rose 7.8% compared to the same day last year. Amazon made just $5.1 billion in sales last Thanksgiving, according to the Adobe Digital Economy Index Fund.

The Prime Day, which lasted 48 hours, witnessed an average sale of $53.58 per customer during the first 36 hours. Some of the best-selling items included Echo Dot 4th Gen, Blink video doorbells, Amazon gift cards, and Fire TV sticks.

“Prime Day consumers were “taking advantage” of discounts after months of “increased prices online,” said Patrick Brown, vice president of Growth Marketing.

Compared to Amazon global sales, 60% of sales came from US customers. Total revenue exceeded $12.52 billion in two days. Inflation, which reached its highest ever in 40 years, seems to have had no impact on sales at all as users tried to grab the prime day deals and take advantage of the discounts.

Prime Day was seen as an opportunity by 33% of consumers, as they could buy the products they wanted to buy at a relatively low price.
