Brown contacted the St. Helier fire brigade and said he was told that he did not have a ladder long enough to reach the cat on a 15-meter tree.

“They also said they should wait for the cat to come down, worried that it might scare the cat even more,” Brown said.

The firefighter at the station said thing The brigade’s longest ladder was 10.5 meters.

Brown tried an arborist, but because it was a reserve, he needed permission from the Auckland Council to scale the tree.

In the meantime, she posted on the local community page and asked the residents to keep an eye out in case Esca collapsed.

Daniel Penman, 11, and his mother Andrea saw the post and decided to help. Andrea said his son was an excellent climber.

“It’s like he’s part of a monkey,” Penman said.

“Other parents are scared to see him climb so high, but he is a good judge of his own safety.”

When Daniel climbed the tree, Esca was happy to see him and came to greet the boy. He put a cat biscuit in his pocket and gave Esca a highly regarded treat.

Daniel also had a drawstring bag on the tree to carry Esca down.

However, the cat found it difficult to stroke inside, so he also tried to make a sling from the jersey, but that also failed.

After all, Daniel made a harness out of rope. He was a sailor and used his knowledge of knots to devise a sturdy one, but he tried not to be too tight.

Esca was lowered to ground level and Andrea was ready to catch him with a towel.

Brown was so happy to see his beloved pet again that he gave Daniel a cash reward.

“I was horrified when I saw how high Daniel climbed the tree. I told my husband to bring whatever cash I had in my wallet. It turned out to be $ 40. “

Brown said Esca was hungry, thirsty and seemed a little sloppy, but otherwise he was fine.

“I’ve been hugging my sister’s cat since I got home. I hate getting him out again because I’m not sure if he learned his lessons.”
