The Now in Android app is now on GitHub!
Now in Android has been a popular blog and YouTube series for two years now, bringing you the latest and greatest developer news from the Android team. Starting today, you can check out the alpha version of the Now in Android app on GitHub!
The app has two purposes:
First, it showcases best practices, quirky designs, and solutions to complex real-world problems that other sample apps can’t handle. It does this with an open source implementation of a real world app.
Second, it helps you (the developer) to stay on top of the areas of Android development that interest you most. It is a working app that is scheduled for release on the Play Store.

In addition to these features, we also document the learning paths we have taken to make certain decisions with the design and implementation of the app. Check out our first journey into the architecture of the app here.

Since this is an alpha version, we expect there will be bugs and missing features, and we would really appreciate your feedback. We’ve planned some exciting features like user authentication and data loading from a real backend. We can’t wait for you to try the app and let us know what you think!
