Angelina Jolie alleges Brad Pitt assaulted her and her children in 2016

A

it’s Jolie has claimed that her former husband Brad Pitt was “emotionally and physically abusive” towards her and their children, leading her to file for divorce.

In new legal files, lawyers representing the actress describe a series of alleged violent incidents, which took place on a plane in September 2016.

The claims come in Jolie’s spinal cord injury as part of the Hollywood Power Couple’s ongoing legal dispute over the sale of their co-owned vineyard in the south of France.

The allegations of the alleged incidents in 2016 were previously contained in an redacted FBI report made at that time.

Documents filed on Wednesday in The Angels and obtained by the PA news agency, claiming that Pitt “verbally assaulted” his ex-wife and at one point “lunged” at one of his children.

“On September 14, 2016, Jolie’s marriage came to an end. On that day, Jolie, Pitt and their children flew from Chateau Miraval to Los Angeles,” the documents say.

“During the long night flight, Pitt was physically and emotionally abusive to Jolie and their children, who were then between eight and 15 years old.

“After that flight, Jolie decided to file for divorce for the good of her family.”

When one of the children verbally defended Jolie, Pitt jumped to his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him.

The filing further alleged that Pitt’s “aggressive behavior” had begun before boarding the plane, confronting the children and Jolie, before continuing on board.

“When one of the children verbally defended Jolie, Pitt jumped to his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him.

“To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself back into the seats of the plane, injuring Jolie’s back and elbow.

“The kids rushed in and all tried to protect each other bravely. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the kids and punched another in the face.

“Some kids begged Pitt to stop. They were all scared. Many were crying.”

The documents went on to allege that Pitt had continued aggressively berating the family, at one point “pouring beer and red wine over the kids.”

After the landing, Pitt also reportedly stopped the family from getting off the plane and physically assaulted one of his children again.

Following the incident, Jolie filed for divorce five days later on September 19, 2016, and an FBI investigation was launched.

“After hearing several witnesses, the FBI agent who led the investigation concluded that the government had probable cause to charge Pitt with a federal crime for his behavior that day, and the agent prepared a probable cause statement for reference to the crime. US Attorney General for Prosecution,” the documents read.

The filing added that Jolie ” went to great lengths to try and protect their children from reliving the pain Pitt inflicted on the family that day.”

When Pitt filed this lawsuit to reassert control of Jolie’s financial life and force her to rejoin her ex-husband as a frozen business partner, Pitt forced Jolie to publicly defend herself on these issues for the first time. they declared.

The ongoing dispute between the couple revolves around the sale of their stake in Chateau Miraval SA, a French company with a house and vineyard in the south of France, which they bought in 2008.

Pitt has previously accused Jolie of orchestrating a “hostile” takeover of the wine business he “carefully built” and forced him to partner with “a stranger with toxic associations and intentions” — Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler.

The Miraval estate is located in the village of Correns in southeastern France and was bought by the couple for around 25 million euros (20,875,500 pounds).

According to the legal documents obtained by PA, Pitt contributed 60% to the purchase price, while Jolie paid the remaining 40%.
