LEVI Bellfield Tried To Kill Himself After Being “Flipped” On Anniversary Of Lin And Megan Russell Murders.
The serial killer, 54, cut his crotch with a hobby knife and was taken for treatment.

He has now attempted suicide three times since guards foiled his first suicide attempt in November.
Doctor Russell, 45, and daughter Meganaged six, was murdered on July 9, 1996 in Chillenden, Kent, while Megan’s nine-year-old sister Josie survived.
A source said: “Bellfield freaked out. The anniversary always touches him.
“He was in a real state yelling at people on the phone and trying out his female partner when she came to visit.
The next day he cut himself in the groin.
“He has previously cut himself in the same spot and had scars on his neck after an attempted hang. It wouldn’t surprise anyone if he succeeds one day.”
In February we told how Bellfield, in Frankland Jail, Durham, had confessed… to the murders.
Michael Stone was convicted for them, despite there being no forensic evidence linking him to the crime scene.
The Criminal Cases Review Commission is investigating Bellfield’s confession.
A decision on whether Stone can appeal is expected later this year.
