Apple has a second version of the iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 Release Candidate developer beta with only a small build number increase.
The new builds of the operating systems can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center for those enrolled in the testing program, or via a wireless update on devices running the beta software. Public betas typically arrive within a few days of the developer releases, via the Apple Beta Software Program website.
The first Release Candidate beta has arrived July 12. The second beta of Release Candidate is just a small jump from the build number from 19G69 to 19G71.
The fifth betas have landed on July 5and appeared after the fourth, issued on June 28which followed the third of 14th of June. The first beta popped up May 31.
The betas mainly consist of bug fixes and performance improvements, rather than providing new features. Since Apple is also testing betas for: iOS 16, iPad OS 16, tvOS 16and watchOS 9it’s not likely that new features will appear in betas that will be released sooner.
AppleInsiderand Apple itself, strongly advise users avoid installing beta software on mission-critical or primary devices due to the low probability of data loss or other issues. Instead, testers should install betas on secondary or non-essential devices and make sure there are enough backups of important data before updating.
