Arsenal's plan to sell struggling striker Eddie Nketiah is reinforced with Nottingham Forest interested after AFC Bournemouth a transfer was rejected.

Some media outlets claimed that the Cherries were interested in Nketiah after sale Dominic Solanke to Tottenham, but they have instead Evanilson signed in a club record deal.

It was devastating news for the Gunners, who are doing everything they can to sell their youth player Nketiah in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal even lowered their asking price to get Nketiah off the books, but they have failed to secure a departure despite links to Crystal Palace and Marseille.

However, there is new hope, with Sky Sport now reports that Forest are suddenly interested in a possible deal.

Nketiah has three years left on his contract at Arsenal and looks set to play regularly for the first team.

The 25-year-old has scored just 38 goals in 168 games for Arsenal so far and has never really cemented a place in the Gunners XI.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express report that Arsenal have a 'clear swap opportunity' with Crystal Palace and that they must take it if they want to finally get rid of Nketiah.

They claim Arsenal could make a move to sign Eberechi Eze, which would see Nketiah go the other way.

However, the chances of that happening are slim, as England international Eze is one of Palace's most talented players and is likely to only be sold for a high fee.

Tim Sherwood bizarrely tried to claim last season that Nketiah was a better player then Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund.

“He can play in a lot of teams,” Sherwood said. “A lot of big teams. You're telling me this kid can't play for Man Utd right now instead of Rasmus Hojlund?

'He is an improvement on Rasmus Hojlund. [United] spent a lot of money on him. For me Eddie Nketiah is the best. I think he deserves to play for Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.'
