Arthur The electric scooter is better than a car

It’s a six month love affair and Andy Brown from… Brown & Co luxury rental is still over the moon about her FONZ Moto Arthur 2 electric scooter. FONZ Moto (the Australian electric motorcycle manufacturer, formerly known as Fonzarelli) recently increased its production fivefold. Not content with producing “green” bikes, FONZ prides itself on producing high-performing two-wheel EVs in a carbon neutral factory.

In addition to providing a renewable energy source to meet the energy needs of production, the new location is also designed to optimize light and space and provide improved ventilation. LED lighting with dimmers, sensors and timers also reduces energy consumption.

FONZ founder Michelle Nazzari says FONZ has never wanted to offshore the motorcycle. They purchase as much as possible from local suppliers within a radius of 200 kilometers from their company to minimize the ecological footprint. Although, some parts come from offshore. “It makes sense to produce locally, especially bulky components, to reduce our footprint and we have great local talent who have the skills to work with more specialized materials. For example, the ability to work with chromium alloys in the bike’s rock-solid frame, which is also used in roll cages and light aircraft due to its strength and lightweight properties,” she adds.

Transitioning from a car to a scooter, Ms. Brown has spent hours traveling between the luxury vacation homes she manages as part of her custom concierge business. What’s not to love? Arthur has stunning aesthetics, zero emissions credentials and efficient running costs of less than $1 per week. Mrs Brown joins Sam the surfer as another satisfied customer.

Brown & Co. has been operating in Noosa for four years, fighting traffic jams to ensure properties are immaculate and ready for delivery. This has long been one of the challenges of the profession.

“To get from place to place, it’s much better to be on two wheels than on four. On the Arthur I can carry the stuff I need on the back, I can easily make hands-free calls – as the bike is quiet – and I can avoid the infamous Noosa Hills traffic jams!

“This model has enough power to easily overcome it and also fits with our company values. Brown & Co values eco-friendly choices as well as beautiful design, so the vehicle is a perfect fit for us.” A long-time two-wheeler enthusiast, Andy has lived in Bali and has spent more than her time enjoying the freedom that comes with living from the back of a scooter.

“I’ve had petrol scooters, motorcycles, e-bikes, the smaller standing scooters and this is by far the best solution to run a business with. It’s fast enough to move seamlessly through regular traffic and small enough to get ahead at traffic lights.

“I have my pillion passenger license and I love taking my daughter Izzy on the back. There’s nothing like the freedom of being on two wheels and feeling the airflow on your face. With the silence of the Arthur it reminds me of my nice days back in Bali … it’s just a bit quieter now.” Andy says she heard about FONZ through a friend and that it was important to her to buy a trusted Australian brand.

“I knew the bike would be of quality and I am not disappointed. I can plug it in literally anywhere to charge it, I’ve never had any issues with range – despite the Noosa terrain – and it’s become quite a talking point around town. Everyone loves the way it looks and a lot of people are surprised that it can handle the hills so well, but it’s just been great all around. I like circling the city in a matte, moon-gray way.”
