Aston Villa not fit for Morgan Sanson could be offered transfer transfer as Turkish side Galatasaray target midfielder

ASTON VILLA’s unsuitable midfielder, Morgan Sanson, could be offered a route out of Villa Park.

The Turkish giant Galatasaray targets the 27-year-old Frenchman as a priority note and prepares a bid.

Villa are keen to move out a few fringe players to raise cash for Steven Gerrard to have a second round of summer purchases.

However, they will probably get a solid blow on the £ 16 million that Dean Smith splashed out to get Sanson from Marseille 17 months ago.

The French midfielder was a flop at Villa and could not nail a spot in Smith’s midfield, while Gerrard also used him sparingly.

Sanson has only started three and made 10 appearances in total for Gerrard, who signed Sanson’s former Marseille team-mate to make Sanason’s chances of starting this season even slimmer.

Galatasaray are ready to test the waters with a £ 5m bid according to TRTSpor, which predicts Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk will approve a bid later this week.

Meanwhile, Villa have unveiled the first phase of ambitious plans to stage Euro 2028 matches in a new look of 50,000 plus Villa Park.

The Midlands giants have entered a period of consultation on pre-application planning at phase one of a major upgrade of the well-known old land and surrounding areas.

Backed by billionaire owners Nassef Sawiris and West Edens, the ambition is to modernize one of England’s most iconic stadiums.

The club aims to transform the arena into a world-class modern sports center.

Villa Park currently cannot meet the demand with a long waiting list for new season tickets.

Improvements to food and beverage stores, improved hospitality packages and better access to the stadium were included in the project, which will also create Villa Live, a fan zone that will showcase the club’s rich history.

The first phase of improvements to Villa Park is estimated to take place from 2023 to 2025, if the four-week consultation is successful.
