Auckland Harbor Bridge lanes could close if winds get too strong this afternoon, Waka Kotahi has warned.
Strong winds are expected between 2pm and 3pm, and speed limits and lane reductions are both options to help manage the wind’s impact.

Waka Kotahi said tall vehicles and motorcyclists should take extra care, and motorists should consider using the western ring route via SH16 and SH18 this afternoon rather than crossing the bridge.
MetService reports that across the bridgewind reaches gusts of up to 59 km / h.
