Auckland jewelry robbery: Gray Lynn smash and grab is fourth robbery in two days

A raid on Gray Lynn on Wednesday night is the fourth raid on a jeweler in Auckland this week.

The front door of the Diamonds on Richmond jeweler on Richmond Road had been smashed in. Glass counters had also been smashed and goods stolen.

A police spokesperson responded to a report of a serious robbery around 4:45 p.m.

They said police understood that four people broke into the store and left in a vehicle.

The vehicle was abandoned near Farrar Street not long after and stolen goods were found.

When stuff On the scene Wednesday night, staff counted the remaining inventory while the door was replaced.

The break-in comes just two days later jewelers in LynnMall and Botany Town Center were robbed.

Employees were inspecting the damage and taking inventory.

Another jeweler on Meadowbank Shopping Center was also robbed at gunpoint this afternoon.

Police said the investigation into the Richmond Road break-in was ongoing.
