On an explosive day of No. 10 news, BBC News presenter Tim Willcox didn’t seem too thrilled about the whole thing after he was caught scrolling his phone with his feet on the desk.

Presenter Ros Atkins reported live from Downing Street on Wednesday, after sharing ministers have resigneddeparting Boris Johnson‘s leadership in jeopardy.

However, as the show returned to the studio, Tim was seen looking at his phone with his feet on the desk.

Tim quickly realized he was in the air and cast a sheepish glance at the camera, before re-adjusting, the footage narrowing back to Ros giving his report.

To be honest, we’re all glued to our phones today!

Fans raved about the gaffe, describing it as a “moment of relief” on such a frenetic news day.

One tweeted: ‘I’m sure I’m not the only one who just saw the reporter live on the BBC news with his feet on the desk.’

“Congratulations to #bbcnews for snapping Ros Atkins to an anchor with his feet on the desk,” another side, while another added: “Accidentally cutting at Tim Willcox with his feet on the news desk while holding his phone was a moment of enlightenment on BBC News Channel.’

Another stated that Tim “moved like Linford Christie” when he realized he was in front of the camera.

It came the day when Mr Johnson resigned more in one day than any prime minister in history, after the Chris Pincher scandal sparked a brutal mass exodus compared to ‘rats fleeing a sinking ship’.

Nearly 40 ministers and assistants have run away since Tuesday eveningincluding two cabinet ministers, 15 ministers, 17 private parliamentary secretaries, three trade envoys and a vice-president.

Several BBC News blunders have been recorded in TV history – perhaps most memorable, when Simon McCoy inexplicably holding a full ream of paper in his hands while reading the headlines in 2013.

It wasn’t until years later that he explained that it was his fault that he wanted to play a prank on his co-host but was caught too late.

Elsewhere, Victoria Derbyshire managed to get on camera late last year to read the headlines for a bulletin, admitting that she struggled to put on her high heels at the last minute.
