question moment was held in Barnsley on Thursday, the same day Boris Johnson resigned as prime minister after weeks of pressure.
Fiona Bruce presented alongside a panel made up of Conservative MP for Bishop Auckland Dehenna Davison, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson, Daily Telegraph columnist Tim Stanley, former Tony Blair press secretary Alistair Campbell and musician Winston Marshall.
Addressing Ms. Davison, the woman in the audience made it clear that there was not enough money for young people to perform.
She said: “How are our children going to gain skills if they don’t have access to youth clubs?
“The local boxing schools have no government money or anything like that.
“The cost of living for them and tuition, education, everything else is just a huge factor, not just in Barnsley but I think across the country.
“They can’t afford to go to university, they end up with a debt of £50,000 when they finish their studies.
“And I just think that for the future of our kids, for future politicians and things like that, I think we need a different path for them.
“We need to support them much better.”
Tom Tugendhat, chairman of the Common Foreign Affairs Committee, was one of the first to confirm that he will run for the leader.
Attorney General Suella Braverman has previously told Robert Peston she would be interested in getting involved in the event that Mr Johnson resigns.
Question time will be held in Torquay for the last time before the summer break next week.
