The Ghosts team announced on social media today:After five incredible years of haunting the halls of Button House, we’ve decided the time is right to lay our beloved sitcom Ghosts to rest in peace. We’ve just finished filming our fifth and final series and can’t wait to share it with you all later this year.

“We could never have imagined how the show was received, or how much fun we had making it, and we would like to thank our wonderful cast and crew, as well as everyone at BBC Comedy, BBC1 and Monumental Television for their tireless support.

“But most of all we want to thank everyone who is watching. Mathew, Martha, Simon, Jim, Laurence and Ben x.”
