NATO increases ready troops to 300,000
The news is that Russia’s actions against Ukraine have prompted both the European Union and NATO members to respond accordingly, amid concerns that the conflict may spread westward. In addition, Britain has been a strong supporter of Ukraine throughout the war and has supplied the country with a large number of military equipment aimed at providing defense to the Ukrainian army.
Wallace is now calling for a permanent increase in UK defense budget to 2.5 percent of GDP to respond to current threats.
This total represents an additional £ 10 billion annually by 2028.
When it comes to how the money can be used, defense industry analyst Nicholas Dramondo has suggested that an additional 160,000 people could be hired in the military.
Writing on Twitter suggests that the Royal Navy may have 35,000 additional staff, the Army may have 90,000 additional staff, and the Royal Air Force may have 35,000 additional staff.
He also suggested that the fleet could be equipped with an additional Type 12 26 frigate, or 220 UAVs, including a carrier-based upgrade.

Analysts also suggested that money could be spent on 600 new infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) or 48 HIMARS rocket launchers.
This money could also be used for new projects such as Tempest fighters and upgraded aircraft from typhoons and Poseidon.
Dramons’ proposal has responded in various ways, with other experts adding views on how to best protect Britain from the Russian threat.
Maritime and defense enthusiast Josh Thackham said: MFP should definitely be on this wish list.
“I think we need to set goals not only for the number and type of equipment, but also for the number of armored brigades, for example.”
