Beyoncé has reportedly been checking up on producers and artists working on her upcoming album Renaissance, after one of her former collaborators was accused of *.
The 40-year-old singer, whose highly anticipated new release is due out later this month, has reportedly rejected two songs from artists who have faced allegations of abuse and harassment.
It comes after Detail, who worked on Beyoncé’s 2013 hit Drunk In Love, was arrested in August 2020 after being charged with 15 counts of* assault. He has since denied the claims.
A source told The Sun: “Beyonce was devastated to find out that Detail, one of her associates, had been charged with *and* assault.
She stopped working with him and her team is now conducting #MeToo checks on potential employees. Two songs from high profile artists have been rejected due to allegations they face.
“While neither of them has been found guilty, she is sending a clear message to the industry following troubling cases from the likes of R Kelly and Harvey Weinstein.”
The source added that while her decision “rubbed people in the wrong direction”, she “don’t care” because she “wants to set an example that all abuse should not be normalized”.
