THE bodies of three young children reported missing were recovered from a pond on Saturday.

Police in Cass County Texas told WHNT that three sisters aged 5, 8 and 9 were reported missing on Friday night.

The State Park Department and Wildlife Game Warden for the county arrived at the scene around 9:30 p.m. Friday night.

Diving teams were also involved in the search.

Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife Captain Game Warden Shawn Hervey told the station while searching that a shoe had been found.

The mother confirmed that it was one of her childhood shoes.

There were also footprints in the mud.

The police don’t know if they can swim.

Autopsies are being performed and an investigation is underway.
