The bodies of a man and a dog have been found in the search for missing mountain hiker Kyle Sambrook.

The 33-year-old was last seen last weekend with his beagle named Bane in the Lost Valley area of Glencoe.

Police Scotland have now said the bodies of a man and a dog were recovered Saturday afternoon by mountain rescue teams and the Coast Guard.

Police said in a statement: “Formal identification is yet to take place, but the family of missing man Kyle Sambrook has been notified.

“They would like to thank everyone involved in the search and have requested that their privacy be respected.

“Our thoughts are with Kyle’s family as we support them through this difficult time.”

Mr Sambrook left his house West Yorkshire on Saturday 18 February for walking and wild camping in Glencoe.

Concerns arose for his well-being after he failed to return home as scheduled on Tuesday.
