Booker T is confident that Ric Flair will “go out in a blaze of glory” when he wrestles his final match later this month.

The WWE legend commented on his fellow Hall of Famer’s upcoming final game — which will take place on July 31 against an undisclosed opponent — and he “respects” the Nature Boy’s passion for wrestling as he prepares to step into the ring one last time at age 73.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Booker said, “What Ric Flair does, he does because he loves this business, man. Ric Flair told me a long time ago that he would never retire.

“That’s the guy, man. He will come in and out in a blaze of glory. In life you can only respect that. I always say, how are you going to tell a man that he can’t go out the way he wants to.

“Big props to Ric Flair, who goes out to give the fans another ride on Space Mountain.”

Booker added: ‘We’ll see how it all plays out – hopefully for the best.’

Meanwhile, he insisted he had no desire to retire before a big match on his own as he is content with his career and is more than happy to occasionally work in tag team matches with students on his Reality of Wrestling -school.

‘I don’t have the itch to scratch. I’ve scratched away every itch I want to scratch to get back into the square circle,” he smiled. “I always do things with my students.”

The former World Champion also reflected on his own experiences with Flair, including their first time in the ring together during a World Championship Wrestling (WCW) shooting.

He recalled, “Half the time I didn’t know whether I was coming or going just because he told me one thing and he did another. But I learned so much that night, in the ring with Nature Boy Ric Flair.

“I was just a student, I was just a student, I was a sponge trying to soak up what it took to get to the main event level and team up with the best.”

While Flair’s opponent has yet to be announced, the map features Killer Kross taking on Davey Boy Smith Jr, The Wolves battling the Motor City Machine Guns, Josh Alexander vs. Jacob Fatu and an IMPACT Knockouts Triple Threat featuring the champion Jordynne Grace and challengers Deonna Purrazzo and Rachael Ellering.
