Boris Johnson wants to make ‘big bucks’ after leaving Downing Street – because, according to reports, he can’t afford a house in London.
The Prime Minister and his wife Carrie are currently renting out his former Oxfordshire home and their jointly owned £1.3 million mansion in Camberwell, South London.
He is reportedly looking for a new house in central London big enough for Carrie and their two young children, as bodyguards have vetoed Camberwell’s property for security reasons.

Sources told The Times that Mr Johnson, who has had to pay for two divorces, hopes to earn much more than his current salary of £164,080 with speaking fees and book deals.
Since Theresa May left No10 in 2019, she has made £2.1 million in speaking fees. And when Mr Johnson stepped down as Foreign Secretary in 2019, he made a staggering £122,899.74 for a speech he delivered in India.
As a columnist for the Daily Telegraph, Mr Johnson earned £275,000 a year. He received an advance of £88,000 for a biography of William Shakespeare in 2015 – a deal reportedly worth £500,000. It is also thought that he could write an autobiography.
