Freeman and 17 other paratroopers helped rescue 125 British paratroopers in the Netherlands on 22 October.
Freeman took part in the Siege of Bastogne without incident, but was wounded in the attack on Noville on January 14, 1945. On 7 April he rejoined Easy Company and took part in their occupation of Berchtesgaden and Austria. In November 1945, along with the rest of Easy Company, he was dismissed.
