With a famous father who is constantly in the spotlight, in ITV soap Coronation Street or at the helm The chaseit’s no wonder the 25-year-old has decided to follow in his footsteps.

After the heartbreaking death of the long-standing Holby nurse Robyn Miller (played by Amanda Henderson), producers of the medical drama are filling the void with plenty of fresh faces.

The novice actor will join the BBC One soap opera as accident-prone nurse Cameron, a young man who clearly doesn’t have the desirable qualities to work in an ED.

An eternally terrified fish out of water who is woefully lacking in self-confidence, Cameron will join Holby’s hospital staff only to realize he may have bitten more than he can chew.

The spitting image of his famous father, Barney started his career in 2019 when he appeared as young Arthur in the Guy Ritchie film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

That same year, Barney appeared in the movie Indulgence and starred in several episodes of it The Larkins next to his father.

He did earlier this year was a guest star in the new series of BBC detective drama Death in Paradise.

Speaking of his impending arrival in Casualty, he said, “Being part of the cast of Casualty alongside Anna, Sarah, JJ and Eddie has been an incredible experience.”

“It really is a joy to come to work every day and play Cam. I can’t wait for viewers to meet nurse Cam when he arrives in Holby and soon realize he may have bitten more than he can chew!”

Casualty producer Jon Sen added, “we’re excited to introduce these exciting new characters to Casualty fans.”

“Jodie, Cam, Rida and Ryan are a breath of fresh air – they bring hope, heart, humor, warmth and irreverence to the ED. We’re sure audiences will love them as much as we already do.”
