A BRIT man has been found dead and his ‘wife’ fought for her life after a sex game went horribly wrong in their hotel room in Italy.
Italian Police said the man, 40 – who has not been named – was found dead in his room next to a 43-year-old woman believed to be his wife, covered in cuts and bruises.
Staff at the chic Hotel Continentiale in the heart of Florence called the police after the woman asked for help.
Doctors rushed her to Careggi Hospital, where she is said to be in a serious but stable condition. Daily mail.
The couple arrived Friday evening and called for help early Saturday morning.
A police source told the publication that both involved are Britons who may have been involved in an erotic game gone wrong.
The source said police were also assessing whether this was a domestic violence case, although the “general direction is that of an erotic game”.
They said: “The man was found with a series of cuts, bruises and other injuries on his body and so was the woman, although she was more seriously injured and the man appears to have had some sort of seizure.
“There is blood in the room and forensic teams are working there while the woman is taken to hospital for treatment.
“Her current condition is serious, but she is stable and her injuries are not life-threatening. We hope to be able to question her sometime in the next few hours.”
Prince Charles and former Prime Minister Tony Blair were regular visitors to the hotel, which a holiday guide revealed cost £350 a night.
It has a rooftop bar and spa and is the place to go for “honeymooners and those looking for a romantic weekend”.
A source said: “The woman had raised the alarm after a maid knocked on the door, but some guests had already called reception to report screaming and banging coming from the room.”
Local magistrate Ester Nocera has opened an investigation into the tragedy and was also seen walking into the hotel and speaking to forensic teams.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Commonwealth and Development said it is in contact with the Italian police.
