BT Group, one of the leading providers of fixed and mobile internet services to consumers, has announced that it will hire more than 2800 people from the UK (United Kingdom) and India to expand its digital arm. The company wants her digital talent resource pool from the current 3500 people to 6300 by April 2024.

“Digital was founded to accelerate BT’s transformation, innovation and return to growth. To succeed, we need to bring in and up-skill the best digital talent, and our efforts will boost technology communities in the UK and India along the way,” said Harmeen Mehta, Chief Digital and Innovation Officer at BT.

More than 1000 people that BT will take on board the UK will be around BT’s hub sites in Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast, Bristol, Ipswich and London. In India, BT will be looking for over 1800 people who will be centered around the Bengaluru and Gurugram hubs.

To ensure that the existing talent pool is maintained, BT is also continuing its ambitious employee upskilling and reskilling programme.

To support the recruiting campaign, BT is bolstering its digital recruiting capability under Director of HR, Digital, Mark Murphy. Murphy comments: “We are working hard to transform the way BT handles talent as we grow the type of people we want at the heart of this new business unit. Newcomers will immediately contribute to the progressive, collaborative, transformative ‘Digital Way’ that is at the heart of how it works.”
