The Dutchman has taken advantage of those loans and was recently called up to the Under-21 side of the Netherlands.

But if Maatsen stays at Chelsea this season, his route to the first team could be blocked by the more experienced Ben Chillwell and Marcos Alonso.
Meanwhile, the Blues have the £50m signing of Raheem Sterling after flying to Los Angeles to join his new teammates.
