Bus full of schoolchildren crashes into tractor while children are 'seriously injured' | UK | News

Several passengers, including schoolchildren, were injured today after a bus crashed into a tractor on a rural road.

The collision is said to have occurred while the tractor's bucket was raised in the air around 3:25 p.m. The bus was carrying schoolchildren at the time and some reportedly suffered serious injuries.

Police have confirmed an ongoing investigation into the incident.

Emergency services were immediately sent to the scene of the accident in Meopham, near Gravesend, Kent. This included paramedics, police, fire brigade and an air ambulance.

Tonight, Kent Police confirmed that several victims from the bus, including five children, are receiving medical treatment. A police spokesperson said: “The incident is being investigated by Kent Police's Serious Collision Unit (SCIU) and officers are appealing for any witnesses to contact them. This includes those who may have images on their phones and motorists with possible evidence on their phones. dashcams.”, reports the mirror.

Photos from the crash scene show about a dozen emergency responders who responded to the devastating crash. The accident led to the closure of the A227 South Street near Culverstone Green, with paramedic teams and an air ambulance responding quickly, along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

An ambulance spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying: “I can confirm that we have responded to a serious RTC in South Street, Meopham, which was reported to us shortly after 3.30pm today. We have multiple resources on scene to deal with a number of to assess victims.”
