Call Of Duty: Black Ops 5 and Warzone Cards leaked by Activision

Call Of Duty goes back to when the F-117 was new technology

A computer generator has new images from not only Modern Warfare 2, but also from the 2024 game – which apparently takes place during the Gulf War.

At some point, game makers will have to learn not to cram their online updates full of secret information. Between that and job advertisements revealing things they would never admit in public, the best source of video game leaks is usually the publisher himself.

Fortnite leaks, for example, almost never come from an inside source, but a data miner combined by the latest update. And so is the case with the latest information on Call Of Duty, including the first ever look at the 2024 game.

A series of 10 images, which appear to be after concept art or loading screens, have been discovered in the alpha files for the new Call Of Duty Mobile and it offers a first look at not only Modern Warfare 2’s maps, but these of the 2024 Call Of Duty game, which is apparently Black Ops 5.

Why on earth are the files in the code for a mobile game is a question that is not going to have a meaningful answer, but it does indicate a very sloppy file management between the various developers working on the franchise.

The likely reason Call Of Duty 2023 is not there is that previous rumors have suggested that Activision Blizzard is giving the franchise a break next year, though the publisher has so far denied it.

The big news, however, is the two footage of Call Of Duty 2024, which apparently takes place during the Gulf War, as one displays an F-117 ‘stealth fighter’ at an air base, an airplane popular with the war (but has since retired).

The other image shows a soldier entering a half-destroyed building that looks very much like images of Saddam Hussein’s palace during the Gulf War.

Since it is known that the game is being developed by Treyarch, the obvious assumption is that it is Black Ops 5 and probably a direct sequel to 2020’s Cold War (which was technically the fifth game, so this new one will probably have a subtitle have) instead of a number too).

We cannot display the images for legal reasons, but you can see them all here in this ResetEra post. Although they only load screens, there is not much else to tell about them.

Three of the other images are from the current Ground War mode, while the others are from this year’s Modern Warfare 2. These include maps called Grand Prix, Oilfield, Museum, SABA, and some (rather vague) DMZ key art.

The Grand Prix and Museum cards have already been officially confirmed, so there seems to be no doubt that these leaks are real, especially since Activision forced the suspension of the Twitter account for the original leak @ R3AL1TYUK.

@ R3AL1TYUK also revealed the names of 12 other cards and claimed that they also have images for it, although none of them have been leaked yet.

The full list is as follows: Dogtown, Esports Gym, Exhume, Fallout, Favela, Fire Range, Floating Bay, Killhouse, Lighthouse, Luxury, Mountain Town and Narcos.

Whether any of the others are related to the 2024 game or not is unclear, but Favela is undoubtedly a remake of a map of the original Modern Warfare 2.

The decision not to release a new Call Of Duty next year was taken independently of Microsoft’s ongoing acquisition of Activision Blizzard and was taken due to the poor performance and quality of 2021’s Vanguard.
