Canada‘s prime minister Justin Trudeau was seen sporting a new haircut after canceling a visit to a brewery in Ottawa amid protests.
Mr. Trudeau was pictured earlier this week visiting children at a day camp in Quebec’s Gatineau Park with much shorter hair than usual.
Those used to his longer locks were somewhat surprised to see him wearing the trim, which he debuted to the world in a plain white shirt and jeans during visits to the park and two Ottawa suburbs.

Since taking office in 2015, the 50-year-old has always kept his hair in the same medium-length hairstyle. It’s not clear what prompted him to make the change.
His shaved locks were the talk of the town, with several comments about his new look.
His new look has sparked an online debate, with many people comparing him to Jim Carrey’s famous character in Dumb and Dumber.
“So now… either you cut your hair yourself, or literally everyone hates you, even your hairdresser,” one wrote.
“So Justin Trudeau got a new haircut and he makes all kinds of public appearances,” added another.
“For those who haven’t seen it, apparently he went to his stylist and said, ‘Give me the Lloyd Christmas.’
They ended the post with a side-by-side shot of Mr Trudeau and Mr Carrey in the infamous 1995 comedy where he stars with Jeff Daniels.
Another simply said, “I can’t stop looking at his hair,” while another said, “What’s happening to his hair? Lol, he looks like that guy from dumb and dumber.’
Many also tweeted Mr Trudeau directly asking him if he was the one chopping his own locks, while others said they should have been warned that he was planning to cut it.
He was due to visit the Brasserie Etienne Brule Brewery in Embrun, Ontario, about 30 minutes east of Ottawa later in the day (Friday, July 15). But the event was called off before he arrived.
About a dozen protesters had gathered across the brewery, including one holding a blasphemous flag aimed at Trudeau, and another answering their phones.
Inside, the brewery was busy with people partying inside and outside the patio. Three customers were asked to vacate the premises. One of them, a woman, approached the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who were posted outside in plain clothes, and appeared to argue with them before leaving.
Government sources have confirmed that the presence of the apparent convoy supporters was behind the decision to cancel the event.

It is the second time in less than two months that he has been forced to withdraw from a planned appearance of protesters who appear to share the same views as “freedom convoy” protesters who blocked central Ottawa for three weeks last winter.
He virtually attended a fundraiser in May after protesters gathered outside a banquet hall in Surrey, British Columbia.
The protests were largely directed against covid-19 vaccinations and restrictions due to the virus. Some have also demanded that he be removed from office.
