Cardi B regrets ‘stupid decisions’ that cost her a Call Of Duty deal

Activision apparently approached Cardi B to promote one of its Call Of Duty titles, but the rapper had to leave the track due to legal issues.

Celebrity endorsements for video games are no more outlandish than celebrity endorsements for sodas and cars. Still, it’s always a little weird when we see them in our games or even pretend on TV to play them in an ad.

One of the most famous game franchises out there, Call Of Duty has regularly enlisted celebrities to help sell the latest entry. Past examples include having Kevin Spacey play the bad guy in Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare and, more recently, adding an ill-fitting Snoop Dogg skin to Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Still, there are some celebrities whose names you would probably never pronounce in the same sentence as Call Of Duty. Take rapper Cardi B, for example. If the idea of her promoting a new Call Of Duty sounds weird to you, you’d be surprised it almost happened.

This comes from Cardi B herself, who casually mentioned on social media that she had been approached about a multi-million dollar deal related to Call Of Duty, but turned it down.

As to why she passed it on, she only said it was “because of the court.” Although she does not specify, she undoubtedly refers to: the incident of 2018 where she was taken to court over allegations that she ordered her friends to assault some bartenders.

Earlier this month, she confessed to third-degree assault and second-degree reckless danger, but managed to avoid any jail time.

She didn’t say which Call Of Duty game to promote, but it sounds like she would have been included as a playable character.

When a fan mentioned the possibility, she explained, “I couldn’t make it a few weeks ago because of the court… I wasn’t able to get the shoot done on time.”

Since this happened recently, she must have been approached for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0. For example, she regrets her ‘stupid decisions’ because they cost her a lot of money.

Judging by the reactions, her fans are also disappointed that the deal fell through and want her to have another chance.

Activision certainly won’t stop making Call Of Duty games anytime soon, so there’s always a chance of a Cardi B cameo in Black Ops 5 or a future Warzone update.
