An 81-year-old resident of Azusa, Californiahas been taken into custody by authorities, accused of inciting a nearly decade-long reign of terror within his community.

Prince King is accused of using a slingshot to cause extensive damage, Azusa said Police.

The allegations include a series of incidents involving broken windows, shattered car windows and narrowly missing pedestrians by ball bearings allegedly launched from his catapult.

Despite the ongoing destruction, fortunately there have been no reports of injuries resulting from King's alleged activities.

The breakthrough in the case came after a thorough search of King's home, just 25 miles east of Los Angeles.

During the search, law enforcement officials discovered damning evidence, including ball bearings and a slingshot believed to have been used in the series of disturbances.

Lt. Jake Bushey, representative of the Azusa Police Department, revealed that detectives traced the origin of most of the projectiles to King's backyard. “We are not aware of any motive other than just malicious mischief,” Bushey said.

The arrest marks a major milestone for the community, which has been grappling with the mystery of the slingshot attacker for nearly a decade.

“It's been going on for years because we just couldn't identify who the suspect was,” Lt. Bushey said.

Prince King will appear in court on Tuesday to be charged in connection with the alleged wave of catapult violence that has plagued his neighborhood for almost a decade.
