Celebrity MasterChef stars feel the heat in first look at new series

Celebrities from the worlds of music, sports, comedy, drama and show business are feel the warmth of the Masterchef kitchen ahead of the launch of a brand new celebrity cooking competition series.

The star-studded version of the BBC One cooking show kicks off on August 10.

Love Island star Faye Winter, Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya JonesMcFly singer Danny Jones and comedian Paul Chuckle are among the celebrities taking part in the upcoming Celebrity MasterChef series.

In a first-look trailer, Gregg Wallace and John Torode, the show’s presentation duo, are once again in the Masterchef kitchen, while Gregg, 57, jokingly tells the nervous celebrities, “Don’t worry about anything, the nation is watching. ‘

Of course, Greg, nothing to worry about… not like there’s any pressure or anything!

John, 56, added, of course, ‘Let’s cook’, in his signature Masterchef style.

While the celebrities are cooking, British drag performer and RuPaul’s Drag Race star, Kitty Scott-Claus, tells the camera, “Fake it ’til you make it,” as she dons a signature Masterchef apron.

Reality star Faye, 26, appears to be off to a rough start when she spotted sitting on the floor near an oven and said to the camera, “I didn’t turn on my timer.”

While Paul, 74, also seems to have a hard time looking at the jury and asking, ‘Shall I start over?’ Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear…

Despite the difficulties faced by some contestants, the trailer also features some impressive looking dishes and professional John having fun dancing while tasting one of the celebrity’s dishes.

Broadcasting for six weeks, the celebrities take on a series of cooking challenges to follow in the footsteps of reigning champion Kadeena Cox and win the coveted MasterChef title.

This year’s pick of 20 celebrities also includes former boxing champion Chris Eubank, TV host Kirsty Gallacher, former football player Jimmy Bullard and actor Ryan Thomas.

Former EastEnders actor Richard Blackwood is also among the participants, along with former All Saints bandmate Melanie Blatt and comedian Kae Kurd.

Hoping to impress with their culinary skills will also include reality star MoJo, media personality Nancy Dell’Olio and British actress Lesley Joseph – as well as actors Adam Pearson and Clarke Peters.

This year, fan-favorite challenges Under The Cloche, The Street Food Challenge and Dinner Party Dish will return in the four-week heat round, before the top celebrities face the half and final weekly phase.

After the pandemic, the finalists in the series will face challenges to cook for a large number of people, including a special centennial challenge to mark 100 years of the BBC.

Celebrity MasterChef, produced by Shine TV, returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on August 10.
