British holiday travelers are told to expect “chaos” at the Eurotunnel terminal in Folkestone. This comes as the travel misery, which has caused for hours traffic in the port of Dover in the past two days, has now spread to the Eurotunnel. There is still a critical incident, alongside Operation Brock, with Highways England warning all day of “serious delays”.
Jack Cousens, head of road policy at the AA, told Sky News that Dover had seen a huge improvement compared to the queues on Friday and Saturday.
But he added that the chaos is “shifting to the Eurotunnel terminal in Folkestone”.
He explained: “I think the situation is one of improvement today, especially in the port of Dover.
“Looking before they come up in the air, they recommend minimal delays in the approach roads of about 15 to 20 minutes, so that’s a good improvement.”

Mr Cousens continued: “But at Folkestone lorries were stacked as part of Operation Brock on the M20, and the subsequent diversion now onto the A20.
“They now meet at the terminal at junction 11 and that is causing congestion.
“Our concern is that the Eurotunnel is now going to become the biggest congestion problem, especially in the southeast.”
He said the AA is advising holidaymakers going to both Dover and Folkestone to be prepared for delays and to bring plenty of food and water.
