Good morning Chelsea fans
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly held a meeting with Portugal’s agent Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes in Portugal last week.
The Blues owner stepped in as an interim director of football to help the club with his transfers after transfer guru Marina Granovskaia and chairman Bruce Buck left earlier this week.
The Manchester United star’s future is far from certain with the player linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
And according to The Athletic, Ronaldo’s future at United as well as a possible move to Chelsea were discussed when Boehly met Mendes in Portugal last week.
The 37-year-old Portugal player has 12 months left on the two-year contract he signed when he joined Man Utd last summer.
Chelsea are in the market for a forward this summer, with Romelu Lukaku signing the club record to return to Inter Milan on loan.
But as things stand now, United intend to retain the legendary forward.
Elsewhere, it has been suggested that Chelsea are the club ‘best placed’ to sign Ousmane Dembele when his contract with Barcelona expires.
Marca claims Dembele is getting closer to leaving the Nou Camp when his deal expires after Xavi’s late game to keep the Frenchman from looking too little.
Reserve goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga also stated his intention to get more playing time, with an indication of a possible exit from Stamford Bridge.
