Chelsea have set their asking price for Hakim Ziyech after Jose MourinhoRoma became the latest club to show interest in signing the Moroccan international.
Ziyech has impressed at Stamford Bridge after a £33 million transfer Ajax in 2020.
The 29-year-old helped Ajax win the Eredivisie title and reach the Champions League semi-finals, but failed to put on top form in West London.
Multiple Chelsea managers have overlooked Ziyech, who has only started four Premier League games this season under Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel.
Given his lack of playing time, Ziyech is open to leaving Chelsea before the January transfer window closes and the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa have been linked with the winger.
According to Gianluca DiMarzioItaly’s Roma are in the running to sign Ziyech as they prepare for the likely departure of Nicolo Zaniolo.
It is alleged that Chelsea are asking for 20 million euros (£17.5 million) for Ziyech and have also been in contact with Roma’s Serie A rivals AC Milan over a deal.
While Ziyech impressed at Chelsea, at the World Cup in Qatar he impressed by helping Morocco become the first African nation to reach the semi-finals.
Former Chelsea star Ruud Gullit still highly values Ziyech and thinks he can become a ‘top player’ at a club like Barcelona.
Speaking Ziggo SportGullit said: ‘The way Ziyech plays for Morocco, I’ve never seen him play for Chelsea. He’s not alone.
“I think sometimes Chelsea put him in positions that don’t suit him. He just has to play on that right side.
“I wonder… I think he will come into his own in Spain, I think. I have the impression that he never reached the level of Ajax in England.
“I would like to see him in Spain. He can reach the top. He would also fit well in the Barcelona team.’
Chelsea are keen to trim Potter’s squad after spending more than £250 million on new signings last summer and almost £200 million this month.
Despite the recruitment, Chelsea are only 10th in the Premier League – 10 points outside the Champions League places.
The Blues, who have a weekend off after their exit from the FA Cup, return to action against West London rivals Fulham next Friday.
