Chris Hemsworth left fans reeling when he revealed the wild lengths he went to for his latest role, revealing a stark new set of teeth.
The 40-year-old has played the role of the evil Dr. Dementus taken upon himself Anya Taylor Joy in Furiosa: A Mad Max Sagawhich hits theaters on May 24.
The Thor legend lost itself in a selection of prosthetics, changing his nose, beard, hairstyle and smile to channel the warlord.
Take to Instagram Ahead of the release, he shared a peek at his new look, showing off a set of giant teeth he was sporting the character.
Smiling at the camera in one video – and looking noticeably different – he informed someone off-screen: “No, they're way too big, I can't talk.
“They don't really fit, they just fall off and stuff.”
Side note: How does he still manage to look ridiculously handsome with a smile full of grim fake teeth?
Alongside the clip, Chris wrote: 'Early stage makeup tests from Dr. Dementus were a lot of fun #MADMAXFURIOSA.'
Fans couldn't get enough of the transformation and expressed their amazement at the difference his new grinders make.
Plemp2020 replied: 'Cute… he looks like a naughty 6 year old in daycare. Glad they went in a different direction with the choices…'
Eric.P.Hall agreed: 'It's AMAZING how different you look with just the bigger teeth!! So crazy!!”
But many, many more couldn't help but thirst for Chris, even though he looked completely different.
Sanara1725 praised: 'Still a picture with those bunny chompers.'
Melissa Cainey wrote, “He even looks so sexy!”
As Rianaapplegryn added, “No, still pretty, but nice try.”
Well, they're not wrong…
Finally flying into theaters this week, Furiosa is the fifth Mad Max film – serving as both a sequel and a prequel to the 2015 installment, Fury Road, starring Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.
It tells the origin story of the renegade warrior Furiosa, with Tom Burke and Alyla Browne also in the cast, and George Miller directing.
Chris recently shed light on his on-screen transformation in a new interview, explaining that the changes helped him “get out of the way” on set.
Speaking to MovieMaker, he said: 'The nose, the beard, the kind of wig, all the prosthetics and the costume, everything was just, look – all that helps you get out of the way.
'The more you can let go and be completely taken on a journey through what the hair and makeup, the costumes, the sets have to offer, it makes your job so much easier.
“Look at these costumes, look at these sets. We mustn't mess up our lines now and get in the way of all this.
“So it was like another prop, everything. And when I looked in the mirror I said, 'I can't see myself anymore. This is a great thing.” Then you start thinking differently, reacting differently, and that has a domino effect.'
