Church with plans for a games room and home cinema goes on sale for £205,000

Would you like to live in a historic church with a home cinema and playroom? Well, maybe you can.

A 19th century church with full planning permission and the potential to become a luxury home is up for auction.

The historic Sheffield property located on Kilvey Road, St Thomas has the potential to be converted into an executive house with five bedrooms and six bathrooms, games room and home cinema.

There are also plans for an upstairs mezzanine overlooking the kitchen.

The detached property, once known as All Saints Church, offers a generous garden and parking garage and comes with planning permission obtained for an external building.

While the church appears to be ready for a modern remodel, historical relics remain imprinted on the building.

Dating back to 1845, the church contains plaques from World War I and a memorial with the names of 30 soldiers from the area who died in the war.

The tribute also includes details of the recipient of a Victoria Cross, the highest award in the British honors system for bravery within the Commonwealth Armed Forces. It was established by Queen Victoria in 1856.

The current owner, who bought the building from the church in Wales five years ago, put the property up for sale after deciding to move to North Wales.

“It would be nice to see someone kindly take on this great development project and turn this beautiful church into a family home along with a new, additional, aesthetically detached family home built on the church grounds,” they said.

Inside the church, which was built by the copper industrialist Grenfell family, there are also memorials with stained glass windows, depicting St. George and St. Michael.

According to the Paul Fosh Auctions website, Swansea Council has granted full planning for the conversion of the church into housing and the construction of a detached building.

Bidding on the property will begin at noon on July 26 and is expected to end two days later at 5:00 pm on July 28. Currently 11 people are viewing this property online.
