Conor McGregor has said he “could have been dead” after apparently being hit by a car while cycling.

The UFC fighter posted footage of the aftermath of the incident believed to have happened earlier today.

An image shows his bicycle in the middle of the road and a car a little further on.

Although the location has not been disclosed, it is believed to have taken place in Co Kildare, close to where he lives.

In a video, McGregor says, “Don’t worry. Mate, that’s nasty, I could have been dead there, mate. Those cars after they skimmed me guys.”

The driver of the car is heard saying “I couldn’t see anything” and “I’m so sorry”.

A shocked McGregor then says, “I’m looking for life over there, guys.

The driver of the vehicle then offers a ride to McGregor, to which the MMA fighter replies, “Yes, I need a ride, roommate that bike f*****. Ah good luck”.

In a second video, Conor McGregor can be seen in the passenger seat of a vehicle with another man behind the wheel, who calls his name.

The UFC star goes on to say, “(He) is after he hit me in the back with his car. It wasn’t our time… that’s all and we’re still here, thank God. That’s all that matters.”

In a post under his Instagram post, he added, “Having a consciousness on the landing saved my life.”

It is clear that the matter has not been formally reported to Gardaí at this stage.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old is currently in court over allegations of dangerous driving following an alleged incident in west Dublin last year.

He was stopped by Gardaí on 22 March at the M50 junction near Palmerstown and arrested.

The highest paid athlete in the world in 2021 was driving his 191 Bentley Continental GT at the time, worth around €170,000.

McGregor, with an address in Straffan, Co Kildare, was initially charged with two counts of dangerous driving before later being charged with a further four offences.

They include driving without a license and insurance, failure to present both within 10 days of the alleged incident, and careless driving.

Conor McGregor missed his last trial because he had the flu and his case is scheduled for December.
