Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) continues her campaign to help refugees in Manchester on Coronation Street next week, as she amends a plan for this year’s festive celebrations to make it more inclusive.

Maria was at the center of the ITV soap’s new storyline about extremism and far-right political views. comment regularly to counter Griff’s (Michael Condron) racist remarks suggest that most of the problems the UK is currently facing are due to the people who were not originally from here.

As Maria meets Munir and Daryan (Twana Omer) to discuss the upcoming refugee center, they are shocked when Griff and his entourage approach.

Griff confronts Maria and reveals the online petition set up by Max (Paddy Beaver) has already collected many signatures.

While Maria is horrified, she soon discovers that most of the signatures on the petition are actually from fake accounts.

During a speech to the Christmas market committee, Maria shares her plan to change the name Wintermarkt and support the asylum seekers’ center.

Councilor Cameron objects, but Maria recants, leaving him seething.
