CORONATION Street's Roy Cropper will be brutally attacked in a prison murder attempt next week as the soap finally reveals the truth about Lauren Bolton.
The cafe owner – who is played in the film by actor David Neilson ITV soap – is in jail accused of murdering former employee Lauren.
Weerveld Police had become convinced that Roy is a secret sexual predator who paid Lauren for sex before killing her in a rage – although there is a distinct lack of factual evidence for this.
Now next one This week, Roy will be terrified when he discovers that terrorist Griff, who is friends with Lauren's father, is in Weatherfield prison.
Griff orders Roscoe to lure Roy to the prison library. While Roy goes to the library with Roscoe, Griff enters his empty cell.
Roy returns from the library and is shocked to come face to face with Griff, and things quickly get worse.

Griff pulls out a gun and demands that Roy tell him what he did with Lauren's body.
With Roy refusing to confess to a murder because he didn't do it, Griff holds the makeshift knife to his throat and orders Roy to say his last words.
Will Roy get into trouble because of Griff? Or will he confess and shock viewers?
Elsewhere this week – which spans five nights thanks to Britain's Got Talent semi-final week – the truth about what happened to Lauren is revealed.
Meanwhile, Bethany is convinced that Nathan is responsible for Lauren's murder.
