My leadership statement:
I want to lead this great country in the right direction.
Right, not wrong.
Forward. Not backwards.
Up, not down.
Nothing is off the table. The table is piled high with choices. Difficult choices. Difficult choices. Choices that affect every hard-working man and woman in our country.
And this country is crying out for someone willing to take that table.
Someone who stands up and says, ‘This table is way too messy. It’s high time we cleared this table.’
This country is crying out for change. Ransom. Spare change. We accept all major credit cards.
Someone who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and put in the hard work of putting everything back where it belongs.
This country is crying out for change. Ransom. Spare change. We accept all major credit cards.
My leadership qualifications are simple.
I can plan. I can communicate. I can campaign. I can deliver.
I can provide plans. I can schedule communication. I can communicate leadership. I can lead plans. I can schedule deliveries.
Because yes, it’s all about delivery. Deliver on time. To a location of your choice. When you leave the house, indicate whether you want it delivered to the neighbors, or through your letterbox, or if you want it delivered to a safe place.
So let me tell you a little about myself.
Before I was born, my mother met my father.
That’s how my story began.
I was just a baby at the time of my birth.
But I was determined to stand on my own two feet.
I couldn’t talk. I couldn’t even walk.
But I’ve never been put off by that.
And that’s who I am. Determined. hardworking. Someone willing to stand up. And deliver.
Started as a baby, I managed to become a child.
And – yes – that early success remains a source of pride.
Within a few years I had learned to walk, talk and even dress myself.
The reason I got into politics was because I wanted everyone to have that opportunity.
Opportunity for the man.
I’ll read that again.
Opportunity for many.
Family is everything to me. And that’s why I went into politics. Working day and night in Westminster.
Nothing is off the menu.
And that’s why I plan to take a closer look at that menu.
Family is everything to me. And that’s why I went into politics. Working day and night in Westminster.
And keep looking long and hard until the waiter shows up.
And then I say to that waiter, as I say to you today, loud and clear: ‘Decisions, decisions…’
And ask for a little more time to view the offer.
Why?
Because someone has to get a grip and make the right decision.
No wrong decision. A right decision.
In other words, a decision that is right.
I want everything on the table. A starter. And a main course. Followed by dessert.
In that order.
Loyalty. To trust. To trust. dedication. Effort. These are my core values.
And these are the reasons why I stuck with our last Prime Minister through thick and thin.
Until my integrity told me I couldn’t support him anymore.
During his leadership, I was convinced that he had a great future.
But now the time has come for us to put that great future behind us.
We must drive change. And switch drivers.
As Prime Minister, I will ruin the ground. Correction: running. Because I know our best layouts are ahead.
We face a major challenge. What is that challenge? The challenge is this. The challenge is our challenge. And it’s up to each of us to rise to that challenge. And to meet that challenge.
And to say to that challenge: yes, you are a challenge. And that is a challenge. But it’s a challenge worth taking.
We need a return to a clear policy.
And what are they?
Let me spell them.
They are policies.
And they are clear.
teamwork. Working with a team. To realize a change of approach. Which requires a plan. But we need more than just a plan. We need teamwork to make it happen. And that calls for a change of approach.
As Prime Minister, I will ruin the ground. Correction: running.
Because I know our best layouts are ahead. Correction: Our best lies are a day ahead.
