Crystal Palace are excited to take Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan from Chelsea for the second time, as the English midfielder continues his seemingly endless battle to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge.
The 26-year-old has been on the fringes of Chelsea’s first team since making his senior debut eight years ago and remains in the same situation under Thomas Tuchel.
Loftus-Cheek is certainly not offside under the German, making 40 appearances in all competitions last season but leading just 13 Premier League starts and not scoring a single league goal.
The sun report that Palace wants to entice him to Selhurst Park with the offer of much more regular time, just like he got the last time he was loaned out to the Eagles.
The England international spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Palace, made 24 Premier League appearances, 21 of which were in the starting lineup, and put in a good performance to join England’s squad for the World Cup that summer.
Crystal Palace had loaned Conor Gallagher from Chelsea last season to great success, so it’s certainly a well-trodden path from Stamford Bridge to Selhurst Park, but it remains to be seen whether Tuchel will let Loftus-Cheek go and whether the player is interested in the move .
The Sun’s report says Eagles boss Patrick Vieira is fond of Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and is expected to get his hands on the 22-year-old for around £20million this summer.
However, the deal turns out to be much harder than expected, so they turned their attention to the man they loaned four years ago.
